Another piece of Chester’s transport history has been secured for the future!

Matt and I are excited to announce that we now officially ‘own’ Chester City Transport Ltd. The company name became available in July 2025 when the last iteration of the “Corpy” finally became defunct.

We felt that if the name was going to be preserved, it should remain in the hands of people who care deeply about the city’s bus heritage — particularly Matt, who personally owns a sizeable fleet of former Chester City Transport vehicles.

Registering the company ensures that the historic Chester City Transport name is protected for the future, alongside the buses and the history they represent.

For now the company will exist simply as an umbrella for our Chester City Transport restoration activities, special events, and the Chester City Transport Ltd website, which we hope will grow into the definitive source of information about the city’s municipal bus history.

A story that began for us in February 1977 now begins a new chapter.
